I've actually attempted to draw him a few times only to end up with certain features that don't quite look the same, but eventually I did it with this! However, I do have to admit that I used guiding grids to make sure I get the proportions right. Nevertheless, it was astounding how well it turned out.

For the shadows on the skin, I cross hatched or shaded lightly across the area before using my fingers to achieve a smooth blended effect. After using my handphone camera and transferring it to my computer, I edited it slightly in photoshop and adjusted the brightness, contrast and levels. Afterwards I used photo filter to give the picture a warm, sepia effect.
